Presentations Mark the 14TH Time that the SkillSurvey Analytics Team Will Present at the Annual SIOP Conference

Berwyn, PA – April 19, 2017 – SkillSurvey, the provider of cloud-based reference-checking solutions that deliver faster, more reliable insights, today announced that the SkillSurvey analytics team will present its research on the qualitative data provided by references at the annual conference of the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP) taking place in Orlando, Fla., April 27–29, 2017.

“We are honored that our analytics team was chosen to present twice this year at the annual SIOP conference,” said Ray Bixler, CEO and President of SkillSurvey. “The submission process is competitive and our research, based on feedback from our SkillSurvey Pre-Hire 360 reference-checking solution, continues to provide new and enlightening insight into the trending human resource topics of today and further advances our knowledge of job candidate selection.”

These new data were gathered through SkillSurvey’s massive text analytics project of open-ended narrative comments, focused on a candidate’s strengths and areas for improvement. This feedback was provided by 20,000 references (2 managers and 2 coworkers for each of 5,000 job candidates). The candidates were applying for one of 25 representative positions at one of 636 companies, representing a total of 41 industries. In one of the two scientific presentations, the SkillSurvey analytics team examines the degree to which the narrative themes predict the quantitative behavior ratings provided by references. In the other presentation, the team investigates differences and similarities of narrative themes provided by former managers versus coworkers.
